What is Atherosclerosis:
Atherosclerosis is the clogging, narrowing, and hardening of the arteries. It is caused by the build-up of a fatty material called plaque in the walls of your arteries, and is the leading cause of heart attacks and strokes. If the plaque becomes inflamed it may rupture and form a blood clot, which in turn can cause a heart attack.
